Illiana Right to Life Committee was founded in 1978 by local Christian Reformed Churches near the Illinois/NW Indiana border.
We are a 501C3 non-profit organization. As such, all donations are tax-deductible, and we make no endorsements of any political candidates.
Our Mission
Illiana Right to Life works to inform our communities about current state and national issues related to abortion and euthanasia and to support local crisis pregnancy centers and other Right to Life education funds. We do this all in the name of Jesus Christ, who offers healing and hope for all who have been affected by the scourge of abortion.
Annual Events
MARCH FOR LIFE BUS TRIP TO WASHINGTON, DC ~ We had two busses attend the March in 2011, one full of Illiana Christian High School students, the other carrying other friends of Life. Though the weather was very cold, the day was bright, and the rally and March were very well attended (estimates are that well over 100,000 people joined). Our prayer is that the officials in Washington heed our message and that hearts will continue to be changed in support of life. Plans are underway for another two busses to attend the March on January 23, 2012.
SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SUNDAY ~ Sanctity of Human Life Sunday always falls on the Sunday that is closest to January 22, the date of the infamous Supreme Court rulings that legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy in the US (Roe v. MOTHER'S DAY AD ~ Thank you to everyone who had your name included in our full-page, Pro-life ad in the Times newspaper on Mother's Day. In so doing, you have voiced your support for the protection of human life from conception until natural death and helped provide people with contact information for various local Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Thank you for standing with us for life!
LIFE CHAIN ~ Join us along Ridge Road in Highland, Munster and Lansing on the first Sunday of October to take a stand for life. Official time is 1:30 to 3 pm (some churches attend from 2-3 pm). Hundreds of Pro-lifers quietly and prayerfully hold signs relaying messages like "Abortion Kills Children," "Adoption - the Loving Option," "Abortion Hurts Women" and "Jesus Forgives and Heals." Event sponsored by the Lake County (IN) Right to Life.
BANQUET ~ Our 32nd annual banquet was held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Avalon Manor at 3550 East US Highway 30 in Merrillville, Indiana. Our speaker was Clarke Forsythe, Chief Counsel of AUL (Americans United for Life). Donations received go to area crisis pregnancy centers, education branches of other right to life groups, and the bus trip to Washington, DC.
